TikTok Catalog errors, and the rules that clear them
TikTok validates catalogs more strictly than Google or Meta. These guides map each rejection to the transformation that keeps products live.

SKU ID cannot be empty
Every TikTok catalog row needs a unique, stable SKU ID. Rows with an empty value are dropped during ingestion, so the product cannot be advertised or shown in TikTok Shop.
Row rejected at upload; product never enters the catalog
Read the fixTitle exceeds maximum character limit
TikTok expects short, scannable titles. Long SEO titles built by concatenating brand, model, colour, size and keywords blow past the limit and get cut at an arbitrary character.
Title truncated mid-word or the row rejected on strict validation
Read the fixImage aspect ratio not supported (must be 1:1)
TikTok catalog placements are built around square imagery. Portrait or landscape assets are either rejected or centre-cropped, which cuts the product out of the frame.
Product rejected or rendered with hard cropping
Read the fixInventory quantity is required
TikTok Shop reserves stock at the SKU level and therefore requires a numeric quantity. A keyword such as “in stock” or an empty cell blocks the row.
SKU cannot be purchased or promoted through TikTok Shop
Read the fixCategory ID missing or invalid for TikTok taxonomy
TikTok validates each row against its own category tree. Sending a Google product category string, an internal collection name or nothing at all fails validation.
Product rejected or excluded from category-based targeting
Read the fixLanding page failed mobile compliance check
TikTok fetches the landing page with a mobile user agent. Interstitials, age gates, geo-blocks, slow responses and non-HTTPS pages all fail the check.
Product rejected; repeated failures put the ad account under review
