Step 1 — Map Fields

Map each channel field to a master field, a source field, a static value, a combination or a lookup table. Required fields per channel are pre-seeded; nine fields must be mapped before generation.

Map Fields is the first step of the channel wizard. It works exactly like Master Fields, with one addition: besides source fields you can pick your master fields, which is the recommended way to keep every channel consistent.

Pre-seeded channel fields

When you create a channel, IRONFEED seeds the field list from the channel specification: the required fields first, then the optional ones. The exact lists per channel are on the Channel specs page. You can add optional or custom fields the same way as in Master Fields.

Configure a field

For each channel field choose an action:

ActionTypical use
Use → Master fieldtitle ← master title. Changes to the master field flow into every channel.
Use → Source fieldChannel-specific raw field, e.g. mobile_link$mobile_url.
Add static valuecondition = new, identifier_exists = yes.
Combinetitle ← master title + | + $color for a channel that wants colors in titles.
Use lookup table / Extract fromChannel-specific normalization (e.g. map availability to Meta's values).
Leave emptyFields you do not want to send.

Conditions (Only IF, IF / ELSE) and Change values are available per channel field, so you can shorten titles for TikTok without touching the master rule. See Mapping rules.

Preview shows the resulting value for sample products.

Before the feed can be generated

Generation refuses to run until these nine fields are mapped and complete: id, title, description, link, image_link, price, availability, brand, condition. The error message names the missing fields ("Cannot generate: missing required field mappings for …"). Products that end up with an empty required value are skipped during generation and reported.

Example: Google Shopping (US) for Acme Outdoor Co.
