Lookup tables: translate and normalize values

Create From → To lookup tables from a CSV, XLSX or Google Sheet and use them in Master Fields and channel fields to normalize brands, sizes, colors and availability.

A lookup table is a list of value equivalences, one per row: From (the value in your source) and To (the value you want in the feed). Tables belong to a shop and can be used by any master field or channel field of that shop.

Create a table

Open /shops/<id>/lookup-tables (or click the table icon from any mapping) and choose New Lookup Table.

  1. 1

    Name

(up to 100 characters) and optional Description (up to 500).
  2. 2

    Pick one source

    • Upload file — CSV, TSV, XLSX or XLS with two columns. A header row named from/to, source/target or key/value is detected and skipped. Drag and drop works.
    • Google Sheets link — Paste the sheet URL. The sheet must be shared as Anyone with the link. The first two columns of the tab in the URL are imported.
  3. 3

    Create Table

You land on the table page where you can review the rows.

Tables created from a Google Sheet keep the link and can be re-synced later so edits in the sheet flow into IRONFEED.

Example file stock-words.csv:

from,to
in stock,in_stock
available,in_stock
agotado,out_of_stock
sold out,out_of_stock
preorder,preorder

Use a table in a mapping

In any field choose the action Use lookup table:

SettingMeaning
SourceThe field (or master field) whose value is looked up.
TableThe lookup table to use.
When there is no matchUse original value, Leave empty, or Use default value (a default is then required).
Case sensitiveOff by default: In Stock matches in stock.

Choose Extract from instead when the From values appear inside a longer text. Example: a "Brands" table with acme → Acme Outdoor, northline → Northline applied to $title outputs Acme Outdoor for Trailhead Rain Jacket by Acme.

Manage tables

The list shows name, description, row count and creation date, with a search box. Delete a table with the trash icon (a confirmation is asked). Mappings that reference a deleted table fall back to their no-match behaviour, so re-check them after deleting.
